Gone

I've been gone for a long, long time from this blog. A lot of things have happened in the gap after my last entry.

I'm just gonna start from last Thursday. I played in an amazing Christmas concert at college. I've never played in one so good, cos my high school ones were always disastrous. I stayed in the music dept. all day, didn't even go to Mass (me, Kerri and Lucy went to town instead, to get Lucy some concert clothes). I went to watch the brass and swing band cos i was waiting for Helen before we went to get foods. Mark (an ex-student, who also goes to Manc Winds) was there, waiting for everyone else as well. I sat with him for a while, then went to look at the rest of the orchestra's music, since it was set up in front of us from the previous rehearsal (where i got a round of applause for my Cadenzas). When they had all finished the sound checks and rehearsals for swing and brass group, Mark went over to talk to them, as Helen came over to pack her trumpet away. I wasn't really aware of what anyone was doing, but i didn't have time to react when i saw Mark running towards me with his arms wide open. He pinned my arms to my sides and gave me a pick-up hug then walked off normally, as if nothing had happened. My arms hurt for a while after that. We - being me, Helen, Mark, Tim, Mike, Becky, Aaron and Adam (Aaron's little bro, who'd been roped in to do the concert) - went off to McDonalds. Me, Helen, Mark and Tim decided to go back earlier than everyone else, however Mark and Tim decided to get the bus back to college (about 2 stops)...lazy gits. So me and Helen went into the pub onto the way back cos we knew some people who were in there. It was a bit boring, i wanted to leave and just go and sleep on the music sofas, but Helen didn't want to, although she looked as bored as i did. We finally left with Joe and Shorty, and Ste and George (who went to another bar to get drinks). I decided to get changed into my black pants...i couldn't be bothered with my skirt anymore. So i did that, then fell onto the sofa next to Corrigan. He had, apparently, slept there for a while before i'd got there. Rob came out of Levvy's room and sat a bit apart from me. I let him settle himself down and sort out what he was wearing, before asking him to shuffle up so i could sleep on his shoulder. He obliged, but then a load of people came and sat down, so it wasn't quiet anymore.
People came and went, including me when i went to do my hair and makeup; i went to the girl's toilets to use the mirror, but it was stuffed with people. So i went out with my little mirror and got Mark to hold it while i fixed my mascara and put on some more eyeliner. He took my mascara, and leaned towards Tim, who wasn't paying attention to us, with the wand and managed to get some on his eyelash. Mark taunted him about that for a while after, saying he looked "gay in one eye" XD

The concert went better than ever! I got my own little applause from the audience for my Cadenzas at the end of Hungarian Rhapsody, he made me stand up for it which i'm sure i must had blushed.
I got loads of hugs afterwards. I love concerts. They make me happy.
I didn't feel like a school concert at all! It felt more like a Manc Winds concert, cos it was all so professional.

The next day, me and Helen went in to 'tidy up' the mince pies and mulled wine from the concert. The hall was already cleared of chairs and stands when we got there, so we went to Levvy's room where we found Mike and Corrigan sorting out music into piles, while Shorty sat at the piano, trying to figure out the bass and top lines for Palladio. Levvy had left the room for a while, when i saw a full box of mince pies. I couldn't believe noone else had seen them. So Mike went to ask Levvy if we could have them, he said yes, and they were gone within a few minutes. I also found some party poppers that hadn't been used in Sleigh Ride in the concert. Me and Mike tried to stick the string bit to the hammers in the piano, so that Levvy or Alison would get a nasty shot when they hit a certain note. It didn't work though, the hammers didn't pull the string with as much force as they really needed. So we just let them off around the room, making a lovely mess that we weren't going to clean up.
Levvy said, when we were leaving about 2 hours later, that we could take the left over bottles of mulled wine. The only person to take any was Mike, who took 3 bottles, in a jiffy bag. We, then, all went to town and went to Costa (except Shorty, who went off his own way) where Mike was meeting Becky.
Corrigan, his girlfriend Lizzy (who had come to college to meet him), me and Helen went to pizza hut. Then me and Helen went to the cinema while the other two went off christmas shopping.

We went to see Twilight!! Which is soooooo good!! I might go see it again soon. Could take Rachel with me, although it might not be her thing.
Well, i'm meeting her when she gets into Manc tomorrow, while dad stays at home to wait for the guy to fit our new cooker (hopefully this one will work).

I shall tell you all about Sunday and this morning tomorrow (although it technically is tomorrow now....). But for now...I bid thee goodnight.
